SENA EXPOSITION

In March, we ventured down to Boston to attend SENA (Seafood Expo North America), North America’s largest seafood trade show showcasing seafood suppliers from over 50 countries. The goal of this exposition is to offer North America’s seafood buyers an opportunity to sample and source products, meet with current or new suppliers, learn from global experts, and network with industry colleagues.

Rob Walker was invited to participate as a speaker in the Conference Program, a segment designed to discuss issues, new regulations, innovations, and trends from industry thought leaders. His panel discussed the theme of “Bringing Seafood Growth and Production Back to the US – Examples from RAS Leaders”.

For decades, the US has increasingly relied on seafood grown, caught and / or processed overseas; both wild caught and farm raised. The shift towards land-based, Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) are slowly changing this landscape.
